Mikao Usui is believed to be the founder of the spiritual healing practice known as the Usui Reiki Healing System.
It is also believed that Mikao Usui taught Reiki Healing to more than 2000 people during his lifetime.
Since then several simultaneous lineages have emerged thereby further including many more symbols, other than the ones taught in the traditional Usui Reiki Healing System, under various different parallel streams of Reiki Healing.
